Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education K-5

The Mt. Lebanon School District is now accepting applications for the position of Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education K-5.

The hiring process for this vacancy is expected to commence at the start of the 2023-2024 school year. Applications will be accepted through the remainder of the 2022-2023 school year. Applications may be reviewed upon receipt and pre-screening interviews may occur on a rolling basis.

This is a full-time, on-site, 12 month permanent position offering a competitive salary based on qualifications and experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package with components that are in alignment with the district's Act 93 Agreement.

Under the supervision and direction of the Superintendent of Schools, the Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education (K-5) is responsible for the academic and operational performance of the district’s elementary schools, manages, supervises, evaluates, and directs the district’s elementary administrative team, communicates, advises, and implements elementary curriculum and instructional initiatives, and ensures compliance with district, state, and federal objectives, policies, and laws. This role advances student achievement and demonstrates a commitment to providing a safe, inclusive, and welcoming school environment that recognizes and celebrates the diverse identities and abilities of all members of our school community, and provides leadership and vision to ensure continuous organizational development and improvement. This is a high-profile, public facing position responsible for providing exceptional leadership and good stewardship of school resources, communicating frequently with the district’s leadership team and with school stakeholders, and fostering high quality educational programs in the furtherance of the district’s mission, “To provide the best education possible for each and every student.”

Director Level Administrative Positions:

Assistant Director of K-12 General Education Practice - PSEA 

PSEA, a professional education/labor organization based in Harrisburg, PA is seeking candidates for a position responsible for advising the organization on professional practice, certification, educator evaluation and professional development. The position requires a deep knowledge of curriculum; teaching and learning practice; school climate and culture; testing and assessment; classroom management; educator evaluation; school improvement; and educator certification. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required, as is a desire to help support educators across Pennsylvania. Problem solving, diagnostic, research and planning skills are necessary. Experience/expertise in designing and delivering professional learning for adult learners also is required. Practicing educators with coaching or other instructional leadership experience are particularly encouraged to apply. 

The successful candidate will have a passion for advocating for educators, students, public education, and organized labor. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is a must. The ability to self-start, plan, collaborate, analyze complex situations, compromise, and problem solve is necessary. Familiarity with the requirements of PA and Federal education legislation and regulation is highly desirable. This position will work in our Headquarters office in Harrisburg, PA. A master’s degree in a relevant field is required, doctorate preferred. This position includes a comprehensive benefits package, including employer paid medical insurances and a competitive starting salary at $114k.
