  • Superintendent - The Freedom Area School District, a small rural community located in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, is seeking a highly qualified, ethical, and visionary leader as its next Superintendent of Schools. The successful candidate will assume the responsibilities of the position on/about July 1, 2021. The award-winning School District consists of approximately 1,250 students housed in a three-building campus serving Conway Borough, Freedom Borough and New Sewickley Township. An actively engaged, supportive community, a highly skilled and deeply committed staff and a budget of $24M provide the underpinning for the highly progressive learning environment. The desired candidate must possess experience in achieving high academic performance, sound school finance and business management skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, culture/relationship building leadership skills, and experience with development and implementation of curriculum. In addition, the candidate should be a proactive and creative out of the box strategic thinker and problem solver who is committed to staff/community engagement and involvement. Additionally, candidates must have central office experience with preference being provided to individuals with Assistant Superintendent/Superintendent experience.   • Superintendent – Whitehall-Coplay School District, Lehigh County, PA. Appointment on/about May 1, 2021. Enrollment approximately 4,300; grades K-12. Successful candidate will be a strong leader that will demonstrate ability to assess areas of district improvement in all support services areas and then oversee major district initiatives – both educationally and operationally – and address the challenges, issues and needs inherent in such projects. Professional attributes must include demonstrated skill in supervising employees at all levels and has developed a programs for staff evaluation and a corrective action plan, new staff orientation, and staff recruitment; ability to work in a culturally diverse community with a wide range of Socioeconomic levels; recognize situations that call for independent judgment and quick thinking and react positively, have transparency with the board, community and staff; and describe decisions in which the board should participate — provides evidence of a decision making style that places emphasis on board involvement. Salary negotiable and will be competitive, based on training and experience, qualifications and meeting board criteria including but not limited to the skills listed above.
