Keynote Address:
The Ripple Effect: How One Decision Changes an Entire System
presented by Dr. Christie Schutz Vincelli, Magnolia Consulting Group
One intervention changes a trajectory. One teacher changes a classroom. One leadership decision changes a school. Through the lens of systems thinking, this keynote explores how seemingly small choices influence relationships, practices, and outcomes across an educational community. Participants will leave with a renewed understanding of how intentional actions, sustained over time, can compound into transformational change.
Breakout Sessions:
Elevating Math Instruction
"Elevating Math Instruction" talks about many of the issues facing math education today. This session will dive into different types of instruction, what each means, and when to use each. Attendees will also dive deeper into mathematical thinking to gain actionable takeaways to share with their staff.
Presenter: Rob Baier, Innovamat
Beyond The Code: Building Readers Who Think
This session examines what structured literacy looks like in Grades 3 and beyond, moving past foundational phonics into advanced decoding, vocabulary development, and knowledge-building. Participants explore how intentional text selection and embedded vocabulary instruction support reading comprehension and content-area learning as text complexity increases.
Presenters: Shannon Gaumer, Shannon Skrocki, and Lakisha Baxter, Curriculum Associates
Turning Assessment Information into Instructional Decisions That Matter
Literacy assessments are most valuable when they lead to clear, timely instructional action. This session examines the distinct purposes of screening, diagnostic, and progress-monitoring assessments and helps educators determine when—and how—to use each effectively. Participants will explore strategies for reducing assessment overload, interpreting data with greater precision, and translating results into targeted intervention plans that improve student outcomes.
Presenters: Ms. Katie Leo and Dr. Christie Schutz Vincelli, LinkIt/Magnolia Consulting Group
