Angela Ceccarelli is the 2020 recipient of the Pennsylvania ASCD Mary Ravita scholarship. Angela is in the accelerated education program at Keystone College, where she has a 4.0 GPA while pursuing her Art education teaching certificate. She graduated Cum Laude from Marywood University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in photography. Angela has been a photographer for over 33 years, and owns her own photography studio, Angela Ceccarelli Photography, where she has won numerous photography awards throughout her career. Angela had to put her passion for becoming a teacher on hold while she raised her two sons, Cody and Tanner, as a single mom. Once the boys were old enough, she enrolled in college to get the teaching certificate she always wanted. Angela loves helping and working with students to be the best that can become. She loves creating art projects with students to help them unlock the creativity inside them. Critical thinking, problem solving, self-expression and positivity is something she would like to bring to her classroom every day. Angela is also a full time paraprofessional at Career Technology Center of Lackawanna County. |

Rachael attributes her homeschool background as the source of her self-motivation and value for a hospitable learning environment. As an educator, she desires to foster an engaging and culturally responsive classroom where students can discover their strengths and effectively communicate their passions with the world. She hopes to advocate for underserved or at-risk students in the mainstream classroom to empower students for lifelong learning. Rachael’s professors and academic advisor describe her as having “a posture for learning” and being “extremely motivated,” “diligent,” and “selfless” in her pursuit to serve others competently and faithfully. Rachael is a leader in and out of the classroom, inspiring others to serve students holistically, and she collaborates with her classmates to get the most out of her courses |
