Leading for Learning Academy | Fall 2020

(Asynchronous Online Course)

Throughout participation in Pennsylvania ASCD's online Leading for Learning Academy, learners will be introduced to the Future Ready Frameworks throughout the course to highlight the depth of the use of technologies as learners develop the technological skills of successful digital leaders. Participants will be challenged to take risks, embrace change, and build a growth mindset for all learners. This program will utilize "Learning Transformed: 8 Keys to Designing Tomorrow's Schools, Today" by Thomas Murray and Eric Sheninger. This course is an online asynchronous course. Participants will work online at their own pace with opportunities for consultations with the program instructor.

The Leading for Learning Academy is PDE PIL approved professional development opportunity for Act 45 credit. Participants will receive forty (40) Act 45 or Act 48 hours upon successful completion of the course.

Target Audience: 

The Leadership for Learning Academy is designed for central office administrators, principals, assistant principals, and educational leaders interested in learning more about digital leadership and innovation. 

Course Modules:

This course contains the following modules:

The three units are:

  1. Advocate for the Future:  Define Relationship-oriented, innovative leadership practices to create a culture of learning that supports student achievement.
  2. Redefine Learning:  When designing instruction and the learning space, there needs to flexible experiences that promote collaboration and inquiry that results in evidence of improved student learning outcomes.
  3. Connect the Community:  Analyze the changes you could make that would strengthen relationships, provide community collaborations and empower teachers and learners to take risks in order to increase opportunities for student achievement and growth.
